Chess Olympiad 2020 Final - India Russia Co Champions after drama

After lot of drama International Chess Federation has finally announced that both India & Russia will be co-champions of the first ever Online Chess Olympiad 2020. In their official statement "By the decision of FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich both finalists - Russia and India - are declared co-champions & awarded with the gold medals". The Chess Online Olympiad Final which was the first ever has seen another controversy with 3 of Indian games getting effected because of disconnection issues unfortunately. Game 1 was a draw with 3 points each for India and Russia. It was all poised to thrilling game 2 where games were well balanced and hopes getting raised to see another armageddon. Game 2 had Vishwanath Anand, Vidit and Harika who had their games drawn. And games of Nihal, Divya and Humpy suddenly got disconnected. Humpy had reportedly connected back in time but both of Divya and Nihal reportedly lost on time. Divya was in a winning position just before the incident happened. Humpy eventually lost her game but lost time due the issue. Lot of support for India with over 60k+ people viewing the game live on youtube channel. At this moment India had formally submitted their appeal against the issue result was awaited. It didnt look good for India as similar incidents had gone in opponents favor previously in the tournament. But after due diligence FIDE has declared officially both Russia & India will be co-champions and will get gold medals.
